Thalipeeth is a traditional Maharashtrian flatbread named for the way the dough is pressed into shape, using the palm of the hand.  The reason  that Thalipeeth is flattened this way is because the dough does not contain gluten , and can not therefore, be rolled or stretched into shape. 


The flour for the Thalipeeth is called as BHAJANI, is prepared from roasted grains, legumes & spices. The Ingredients include grains such as rice, wheat, bajra, jowar, legumes such as Chana, Urad. Spices most commonly coriander, Cumin Seed.
With combination of flours, vegetables and spice powder, which together it a rich source of iron, fiber & Folic acid.

Cummin Seeds. 11. Ajwain ( Carom) 12.< Dalchini (Cinnamon)  13. Kale Mire (Black Pepper) 14. Heeng( Asafetida)

How to prepare
·       -  While preparing the dough, other ingredients such as onion, fresh corriender, other vegetables and spices to be mixed with Protinwala Thalipeeth Bhajni in a deep bowl & kned into a soft dough using enough water.
-
·-         Divide the dough in to portions and keep asides.
·    
-           Heat a non stik tava (griddle and grease it lightly using little oil.
·    
-           Wet your fingur place a portion of the dough on a hot tava (griddle) and pat it with the help    of fingers to make a 100 mm (4’) diameter circle  
o
·         Cook on both the side using lilltle oil , till it turns golden brown in color from the both the  
       sides.
·         
       Repeat same steps to make more thalipeeths.
·       
            Serve immediately.
